The history of the club
The „Ronin-Do” Oradea Sportive Club begin the activity in the year 2005 with a small group of persons under the guidance of Dan-Marius Sabău. He started practice kendo in Timişoara, ar the Sportive Club "Sam-Sho” at the end of the year 2001, and after he moved back in Oradea he continued this practice together with a few youngs willing to know more about the Japanese civilisation.
The conection with Sportive Club „Sam-Sho”, guided by mister Florin IanALÂ? preserved during the years, members of the club in Oradea going to practice together with the kendoka from TimiÂ?oara.
There were made conections with the other kendo clubs from Romania and a few of the clubs from Hungary, while the members of the club participated at stages and championships. You can find the list of the stages and championships at the section „Activities”.
În anul 2007 the club affiliated at the Romanian Federation of Contact Martial Arts as member of kendo department, in order for in the year 2008 to become full member.
If in the beginning we trained in the gymnasium of the „Mihai Eminescu” National High School, starting from 2005 we moved to the he gymnasium of the „George Coşbuc” school. Since 2010 we've been training to National Colleague Iosif Vulcan.
The name of the club was inspired by the legend of the 47 ronins.
